Port Stanley

We caught the end of summer on the shores of Lake Erie in Port Stanley. The sand beaches were nearly empty except for the seagulls, and the sun glistened on the water. The lake was still warm enough to swim, the nights stayed mild, and the harvest moon lit up the pier.
We spent two days dipping in the lake, enjoying the beaches and hopping over boulders along the shoreline, picking up debris as we went. There was lots of it: small pieces of plastic washed up by the waves, large chunks of marine foam lodged between rocks, a Sharkpedo, shoes and plastic bottles. Elliot supervised and approved of our finds.
We came away with three bags of debris and 38 recyclables, and left the shoreline a little better than we found it.
