After the rainstorm

After every massive downpour, the river fills up with debris. I spent over an hour on Sunday fetching plastic bottles, Styrofoam, plastic bags and even an entire plywood door from the shore after Saturday’s storm. The most incredible moment was seeing a giant snapping turtle dive in the Speed River right next to the place where I found a lure stuck in the nearby bushes at water level. Removing even a small amount of our debris from the environment we share with other creatures felt motivating.
