Grand Bend
Meghan did a cleanup near Grand Bend for Canada Day. Her field notes for her cleanup:
Big Mylar balloon, lots of small plastics, 2 fishing bobbins, multiple balloon ribbons, cigar and cigarette butts
Plastic in the Great Lakes does not have an easy exit point, so it circulates and fragments into smaller pieces, which impacts aquatic environments and human health. Removing the macro plastics from the shores prevents them from washing back into the lake to fragment and it’s incredibly important for the health of our waters. Thank you Meghan!
