Big Creek Paddle Cleanup

Our first paddle cleanup this year took us to Big Creek on the north shore of Lake Erie. Big Creek feeds and incredible marsh that is home to more than 200 bird species, especially during the spring migration.
For being such an incredible significant wetland, the boat launch at the tip of the wildlife refuge and surrounding areas were littered with garbage and plastic bottles. We recycled 47 cans and bottles and diverted two big bags of debris from the area.
After our cleanup, we paddled up the Big Creek and enjoyed an incredible chorus of birdsong.
