Recycling Pilot

This evening we installed our recycling box pilot at the trailhead of the Speed River Trail. The area near the trailhead accumulates an incredible amount of plastic waste from single use drinking bottles and drinking cups. With our pilot program, we hope to capture and divert some of this plastic before it breaks down in the environment.

We celebrated by picking up some of the debris near the trail entrance and easily accumulated 20kg of garbage once we loaded our shopping cart from top to bottom:
